Occupational Therapy

Paediatric Occupational Therapists in Australia are dedicated to aiding children who encounter challenges in performing daily tasks due to physical disabilities, learning obstacles, emotional or psychological challenges, developmental delays, or neurodiversity.

Their role involves:

  • Enhancing children’s self-help skills

  • Aiding in learning-related activities like handwriting and using scissors

  • Fostering participation in social activities

  • Developing gross motor skills such as balance and coordination.

Addressing these aspects is vital for the child's mental health and wellbeing, as it elevates their self-esteem and confidence.

To practice, these therapists are required to be members of both the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Board of Occupational Therapists Australia.
